Submission Guidelines

We are currently open for submissions through July 5! Information on how to submit listed below!



  • Please​ refrain from including the full name of any perpetrator(s) or any other identifying information in your works, including photographs or detailed portraits in artwork.

  • The editor retains the right to post a "Trigger Warning" on a piece if it is deemed to be potentially upsetting to readers, other contributors, or survivors.

  • If you are uncomfortable using your real name, pseudonyms or "pen names" are completely acceptable.

  • Authors and artists reserve all rights to their works, but, with acceptance, Emergence gains the right to
    publish the submitted materials online and keep them in its archives unless the author/artist makes a specific request to the editor to have their work removed.

  • Simultaneous submissions are welcome, but please contact the editor or withdraw your work via email notification if it gets accepted elsewhere.

  • All submissions must be made through the email address provided below.

     - any submissions received by any other means will be deemed ineligible


 

By submitting your work, you agree to adhere by the guidelines listed above. 

Submissions that do not follow these guidelines will not be considered for publication.





Length Requirements:
 

  • Prose (fiction/non-fiction): up to 3,000 words in length

  • Poetry: up to 3 poems, no more than 8 pages total

  • Artwork: up to 3 pieces of art/photography
